It looks like Proteomics is good at discovery but doesn't have the necessary skills and contacts for advancing and commercialising its tests in a timely manner. Not sure how you could spin off every test and where the value would be in doing that.
A buyout from either a big pharma or diagnostic company seems best. The big players can fund/accelerate commercialisation.
The news article is a few months old, wonder if anyone's come knocking.
