What is this obsession with companies to spin off. As far as I can see it is only to extract money out of shareholders.Surely we are a mining company which can walk and chew gum at the same time not an employment agency which employs more CEO's and gives an extra salary to the same Directors. Create a new division if you wish but spin off no as it only penalizes the long term shareholders.This is my opinion as I have yet to see a company flourish by splitting up their resources. To bring in an expert and advise the company in the finer points of how to mine iron-ore has to be cheaper than starting a new company.
