Thanks for that reference.
Jonathan Swan's article in The Age online shines a few extra lights on the matter:
http://www.theage.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/very-important-discussions-tony-abbott-defends-don-randalls-cairns-trip-20131023-2w0aw.html
Tony Abbott may think a decision by his office means 'case closed' and that storming off after being pursued further confirms it, a strategy he may have enjoyed as Opposition Leader but not anymore!
"... After three days of intense media pressure Mr Randall promised late last week to refund taxpayers to "alleviate any ambiguity". ..."
"... But when quizzed by The Australian Financial Review, Mr Entsch refused to divulge the content of those discussions and admitted he did not know if they constituted "electorate business" as Mr Randall had claimed. ..."
"... Later asked why Mr Randall's wife went on the Cairns trip given it involved a work meeting, Mr Abbott ignored the question before being driven away. ..."
Oh dear!
This from someone who relentlessly pursued a former mate into political purgatory for cab scharges totalling about $1,000 while he was actually a Liberal MP and condemned Julia Gillard for appointing him as Speaker.
