Does not the bible say that God is spirit? John 4:24

Does it not also say we are made in the likeness of God. Gen 1:27

Man and woman made in the one likeness of God. No two people are the same so the likeness must be in spirit. Our spirit is of the same substance or essence as the substance or essence of God. Is God not eternal? If you have answered yes to this question then it is clear that we have been made in the eternal likeness of God.

The spirit goes out, the earthly body which is composed then decomposes, (dust to dust) and one's earthly thoughts, materialistic desires and free will perish. The personality associated with all the education and positive attributes one has acquired continues on and we continue to be educated and progress beyond these earthly confines.
