We're getting a Hyundai Kona, full Electric with extended battery. That option was like 5k extra IIRC but not only does that mean longer range, the pack also allows for an extra 50kw out of the motors which is a bargain.

I really wanted the Ionic 5 but couldn't talk the misses into it before they canned preorders.
The ionic 5 cost about 10k more but is 225kw AWD, larger battery and range, and designed from ground up as an electric only platform, so more space in cab as no trans tunnel and drivetrain/ fuel tank space designed into body and chassis.
it also has faster maximum charging, allowing an 80% charge in 18 mins or something silly like that. Looks s***hot too.

Id have liked to compare that to my GR Yaris, which is 200kw AWD, putting down about 160kw at wheels after drivetrain losses. The ionic5 would have had less/no drivetrain losses and a better torque curve off the mark but is also heavier. Cant remember the weight but the yaris is 1280kg without me in it.

I think i can talk her into ordering a solid state battery electic when that tech comes out and sell the kona so fingers crossed on that one
