No change on the SMM site over the past week, other than a small rise of US$2,000pt in the Asian seaborne Korea, Japan markets, but the later is okay if exported from China
. Reading the below, it appears China cathode/battery makers have sh1tty long term contracts, hitting prices ceilings, thus can no longer pass on the higher prices downstream. On the other hand, China is very protective of their EV OEM market, so trying to ward off demand destruction or deferring demand, which obviously wasn't discussed in the play book, etc.
