Following are some back of the envelope calculations, so
feel free and correct or modify as you wish.
I've tried to determine in very broad terms what would the
average price of product sold have to be in order for the company
to make a net profit. That is really our holy grail objective.
I kept the sales for the quarter the same at 114,000 dmt shipped.
I eliminated $2 million in acquisition cost last quarter and $5.9 million
in charges for the redemption of the Nordic Bonds.
That reduced last quarters loss to $10.3 million, which I divided by
the 114,000 tons shipped last quarter. So we need the price of our
product to increase on average by $115/per dmt for us to break even.
Since the price of the product sold last quarter did not reflect the
substantial increase in the market price at the end of last year and
beginning of this year, we should be profitable this quarter, all other
things being equal.
Have at it folks. A good exercise for all of us. lol
stay safe.
