The high pump price of fossil fuels is driving people towards EV's. And the pump price is set to linger or go higher due to a raft of geopolitical and ESG/renewable/GW considerations going on all over the world. Be it rich man or poor, no one likes to pay $2.50c/$3.00 (its coming) per litre if there is a viable alternative. And the viable alternative are EV's. The Occums razor of simple logic
