AJM was in a similar situation before it went belly up. They were selling to China for whatever they could get just to keep the lights on which contributed to a flood of lithium at artificially low market prices… although that was quite fortuitous for us at time as we ended up purchasing “them” for a song.
Not hard to see marginal producers being forced into a corner and the same thing happening.
