Maybe it’s time for all us LT investors and short/medium term traders, regardless of what mining stocks we own, to lobby the Government as a collective, via letters to our Ministers. You have hit the proverbial nail on the head with your post. There are many great companies that are suffering or going to suffer, along with their investors, simply because some ‘financial - market expert’ keeps advising Parliament that short selling provides liquidity and allows the market to ‘find a true valuation of a company.’ WTF? Maybe that was the case 30 to 40 years ago, not so much now!
The Fed Government is allowing an ‘US v ‘THEM’ war to rage on the markets, and as we have seen with PLS, LTR, CXO, and countless others I don’t monitor, ‘THEM’ seem to be winning hands down. Something must change or thousands of Mum and Dad investors just to name a handful, around Oz are going to have a lot of their life savings sucked away, and already have been sucked in through fear already.
The old investment advice to ride out the market downs and hold on for the upswing is starting to sound very false, as shorters are relentless, and are doubling down so there is NO upside. The ASX is fast looking like a shorters wet dream! That is NOT a level playing field. It is simply wrong and unfair.
I don’t hold PLS by the way, but I’ve put a ‘buy’ sentiment here for you anyway. Great post @Darkside
