Make sense to me. China dictates the price, it moves where they want it to go. I believe that they artificially drove the price up to silly levels to get more mines online. Once online they drove it back down to get unlimited cheap supply. Maybe if new Gigafactories come online outside of China they will drive the price back up a bit to make it difficult for the new competition (battery makers). All they need to do is turn the Lepidolite off and buy outside China.
Being more mature and having cheap labour they can handle the higher prices more easily than Western countries. We know they are happy to work at a loss even if it helps screw the west. Bring on those new Gigafactories.
