We will soon know via volume if this is the real deal. So far as i can work out there has been no public alignment of Nokia (one of the founding members of NFC tech) and Mastercard. It seemed indeed that while the technologies could be complementary that it was possible that they would be rivals...NFC having the capability to wirelessly transmit and recieve secure payment information... Perhaps now rivalry has been replaced by a more considered understanding of the place in the world of each of the sectors involved and a strategic understanding of the ability of both to make heaps if they just get it together. If that is indeed something like the case then Keycorp as a technology provider and key player in much of the development of this and as a provider of services with a global imprint should awaken from its long sleep.
