I don't think thats true, Sportsbet have the live betting facility as do Bet365 for the thoroughbreds the moment the horse race starts and I am able to get on online without calling, besides it would take too long to call for a live bet in a race that last just over a minute depending on the distance..

I'd suggest opening an account with BET365 - they won't restrict you (going by my own experience with some big wins on weekday meetings and on boxing multi's) and sometimes they even give you higher odds if you've taken unders (for example, you take X @ $1.70 to beat Y, X drifts out to $1.90, you'll get $1.90) I'm not sure how this works but it has happened a couple of times to me.
