Ok the thought from me - on small spec oil players the technical anaysis can be useful when applied in blocks of 3-5 days - looking for signs of a breakout surroudning expected news - there are only certain things i use the TA for on speccys but those things im looking for are valid when trading spec stocks. Its a matter of using the right indicators for the right predictive method and clues to the outcome.
The strategic use of TA and some Fundamental anaysis assists in the decision making progress.
