Would you let a Heart Specialist perform Brain surgery on you, or even a Med student who is undertaking to become a Brain surgeon ?
And you certainly are wrong about any Geologist only needing drill hole data and SG's. Rare Earths are not Geologically similar to Coal. Their modes of deposition are completely different, RE's are generally Magmatic in origin while Coal is generally Sedimentary; the first needs the plumbing system to be understood, the second a Basin. You can not assume continuity and homogeneity in an Intrusive deposit !
