And all that research is being led by Wencai Zhang, who only ten years ago received his master's degree from China's Central South University. That's the one in Changsha. Can't find Changsha on the map? Probably can't find Blacksburg, Virginia, either. Doesn't really matter. Research done in Blacksburg today will be available in Changsha tomorrow. Drive down the production costs for US rare earth, drive it down for China rare earth also. Consumers benefit from lower prices. Producers, not so much.
