Amigos, the MP mine was approved decades ago when EPA regulations didn't question the environmental impacts of its radioactive waste. It had many radioactive spillls prior to its closure (since then it has re-opened and started afresh). There are no other rare earth mines in USA, and it is unlikely that any prospect with significant levels of radioactive metals (Uranium and Radium), will get approvals. So ARR's large prospects with negligible radioactive metals, are the best alternative, possibly the only realistic alternative, for the USA in its push to build and expand its rare earth supply chain. ARR has been receiving support from research institutions and government agencies because they understand the big picture and see the advantages offered by ARR's prospects. What is becoming clear is that there is really no point in having a rare earth prospect which has veins of 1% or even 5 % rare earths, but which has a radioactive problem - ARR already has one of those prospects but is not advancing it. The facts are that the cheapest mining of rare earth ore is by open-pit, with preliminary processing on site to produce a higher grade concentrate (which can be sent to a specialised facility for purification). That is the direction that ARR is pursuing and its preliminary metallurgical tests show that their ore can be concentrated with simple processes (eg magnetism and gravity). ARR has stated that because of the low radioactive elements in its ore, the gangue or waste rock from the on site-concentrator, will be returned to the mining pits and these areas will be rehabilitated. The environmental impacts will be managed and temporary. Try doing that with radioactive waste! ARR has transparent plans to develop its prospects according to best principles of environmental responsibility, social standards and governance - shareholders and stakeholders can follow it with every announcement. ARR's team is so far ahead, that it is only a matter of time before the market hears an announcement which triggers a new realisation of the value of the assets that it holds, all IMO.
