Mums and dads were given the opportunity to participate and some have taken it up, contributing $5mill to the coffers. The rest could go to external parties who will now be able to get larger parcels than the 15K limit under the mum and dad spp.
Should the shortfall be taken up and the sp rise as we head towards 2b results and more info on the additional cancers, the spp eligible shareholders cannot complain. Imagine the outrage if it had been offered as a placement to instos first. We retail investors can be rather fickle in our approach at times lol.
IMO they expected the shortfall but decided to give existing shareholders first nibs anyway.
