I have a father in law that has 8000 units of MQG - but being a self funded retiree (living off dividends)he has no spare cash and therefore couldn't participate in the spp. I reckon there are lots of mqg shareholders who simply could not find the spare cash for the spp.
Makes me think that as i approach retirement (20 yrs from now) my investments will have to be a bit safer
e.g. the metcashes, csl etcc..., cash in the bank...
