You make a fair point there infose. Though I think the waters here are somewhat muddied by the timing of the recent announcements and the forthcoming resource upgrade - and this is something that was alluded to in today's announcement by HAW.

What I mean by that is that whilst trend and historical data might provide a broad indication of the likely final take-up of any given SPP in this sector, it is unlikely that data exists that would account for the complex situation that we have here, particularly with regard to the upcoming resource upgrade and change to the corporate structure.

It sounds like I am desperately trying to defend the SPP but this isn't the case. I have no idea which way it will go, but that's just the position as I see it from my perspective.

I certainly agree with you about the structure of the SPP though.
