Why would they? The whole point of a SPP is to raise the targeted amount if funds, they don't care if you only hold 1 share so long as they get the funds. In fact I'd say companies would welcome having guaranteed (so long as they are in the money) purchasers of their SPPs rather than relying on paying for an underwritter.
