I considered this as I recently was married and hence blew any spare cash I had to take part in this SPP. I figured it wasn't worth it considering you would sell $15k of shares but would most likely get a scaled back SPP hence would end up with less shares than you started with and by the time the refund comes back, this horse may well have bolted, not to mention the tax complications. Best to just participate in this SPP with whatever cash you have on hand instead of selling.
