I have also been given advice that these guys may be in trouble with the wording of their announcment on June 5th "Key Points:
• Petrofac Resources announces farm-in to London Stock Exchange
• Investors wishing to participate in the MEO Share Purchase Plan must acquire
shares before 4 pm (EST), Thursday June 7, 2007", its the last part which has them in hotwater, because MEO are making the offer that if you buy before the 7th then you are in. So it wouldn't surprise to see the date extended by two days, and for the broker who with held the stock well lets just say when that becomes known they are in deep, I think its illegal arbitrage what they did.
