i understand where your coming from and you may well be right, the only reason i thought it was different is that you get a contract note, and can on sell immediately, if i don't own the shares till settlement how come i can sell them straight away? Thats my thinking however i could well be wrong.
Like i said i'll definately try to find out and report back.
