The financial system is based around exponential growth....we live in a finite world....population still growing and the easy to find/produce resources have been exploited.....at some point we are all going to have to adjust to less, especially as developing countrys will continue to increase there share......
question is not whether or not the system declines, but rather whether or not we see a sudden crash or a slow controlled winding down of the way the world operates and uses resources.....
I beleive that longer term banks (the ones that survive) will be a shadow of there present size....
