Looking at the volume of shares going through, and more importantly, the price, it would appear that the SPP was a strategic move to get a number (replace that with "considerable volume") of shares into safer hands. With the price soundly staying around the 8.4/8.3 level, it would be a superb way of ensuring that shares moved from weak hands to solid hands. This works as then the buyer, has secured the shares at the "right" entry level.

Btw, I see this as a good move.
