javanco, your model isn't correct. pure and simple I can sell my current holding and subscribe at 510 and pocket the change. A model that doesn't reflect this isn't worth discussing.
spp is a strong buy at current prices for holders. There is one outcome that results in > 0 expectation so saying that no one should participate is incorrect.
If you are modelling a stock that isn't under an spp and not for holders during the spp, I would agree with your sharpe-ratio-esque method in that case. Numbers still questionable.
