I can assure you that was indeed accurate. The morning that the Insto Placement completion was announced was the same morning of the Sthn Cross Equities conference.

MR was on the phone non-stop prior to his presentation. I had the opportunity to chat with him at the tea break immediately following. He indicated they had received insto committment for $29m and scaled it back to $21m. He particularly mentioned having to send a refund cheque to AMP for $1m.

I realise this is 2nd hand news, so your scepticism would be understandable, but there it is.

My own "very strongly held view" is that the SPP will be fully subscribed. Retail investor uptake is not the only option here. SP rally yesterday and today does not hurt either.
