IMO it is foolish to sell shares in order to buy bin the SPP. As you said, you may not get the full amount, thus needing to buy back in at market if you want to keep the same investment size.
Also, there is at least one week, I suspect maybe 10 trading days in order to sell the shares send the funds before the SPP, then wait for the new shares to be issued and trading.
Anything could happen to the share price in that time, I suspect it will be much higher.
