Thats all well and good but doesnt shale oil or for that matter tar sands all have some heavy duty impacts on the environment? I assume shale oil and tar sands = non-conventional energy sources, of which this BP guy talks about?
Yeah maybe all these reserves pushes out peak oil a bit but at the end of the day there's heavy financial and non-financial costs attached to pursuing these non-conventional energy options.
Sorry, but what is the point of the NY times article (oops sorry I mean BP infomercial) again? The NY times (oops I mean BP) want less regulatory impediments lol? So if they commit another GOM blunder they dont have to pay any fines maybe? Maybe relocate communities, etc.
