Considering the negative market conditions yesterday, Sprott Physical Uranium Trust had an excellent first day of trading up 6.65% during which it was able to also buy 100,000 lbs of uranium. Sprott taking over Uranium Participation Corp. is a very interesting development and has the potential to be a huge catalyst over the coming months and years. With the capability of doing "at the market" raisings to buy more physical uranium, the trust will be able to maintain a close premium/discount to NAV ratio which reduces risk to buyers and makes an investment into physical uranium very attractive to a wide range of institutional funds.

I don't expect SPUT to be an overnight game-changer for the uranium sector, but going forward it is a huge catalyst for the spot price to make some big moves in the future. SPUT is also expected to list on the NYSE later this year, which will open up the worlds largest capital market to invest and we could even see SPUT trading on apps like Robin Hood.
