I don't think I agree with that - they shouldn't track the indices but they do. That may change in the future when the markets start valuing U according to its fundamentals. But that is now looking like quite some time away.
My point is simply that the downside is not finished; for different reasons than the last correction. The economy is on the verge of a recession - all the charts are breaking down and the price of gold is breaking out! I don't understand why people aren't discussing this more. Perhaps everyone is busy selling and taking profits to hold cash so they can buy back in later...A strategy that is at least worth some thought in the climate we are in.
