Hi adamleo, to be completely honest you got off lightly here as if everyone took or repeated share tips or advice from every random person they met the forum would be pretty baseless.

I'm giving you the benefit of youth or relatively new to investing as I used to take note of these things when I first started - not sure I'd ever write them on a forum though!!

Point is to learn a bit about the stock these people are spruiking or bagging first - then come to the forum with advice or questions. Often you hear people talking something up, do a bit of research and wonder why they are so bullish? Take those questions in with evidence to the forum and ask them why they like the stock so much given the things you found. Its a great way to learn or bounce ideas.

It's a lot better than telling people who have spent years in this stock or are very researched up that a guy at the speedway in Kalgoorlie said stay clear...
