Elk Petroleum Ltd appointed Andy J Rigg as managing director and chief executive officer on February 18, 2008.
Mr Rigg will be responsible for oilfield redevelopment, enhanced oil recovery and exploration projects.
Mr Rigg has 35 years experience in international oil exploration and development. He is deputy chairman of Mosaic Oil NL, a non-executive director of MEO Australia Ltd and Anzon Australia Ltd, and an advisor to Australian Coal Association Low Emissions Technologies Ltd on carbon dioxide storage. He has held senior management positions with Esso, Santos and Ampolex.
