Current Weather Summary and Future Developments:
A trough near the base of the Top End will move slowly southwards during the
next few days. A weakening ridge of high pressure over central Australia directs
an easterly flow across the south. Winds tending warmer northerly in the south
on the weekend, as a weak trough approaches from the west with isolated showers
and storms developing in the western border areas and the northeast Alice
Springs District on Friday.

Forecast for Thursday:
North of the Alice Springs District...
Isolated showers and storms, tending more frequent with areas of rain over the
Barkly and Roper McArthur Districts with localised moderate falls. Light to
moderate northeast to southeast winds.

Alice Springs District...
Areas of cloud and a few showers, clearing from the west later. Moderate east to
southeast winds.

Fire Danger: Very High in the northwest Top End, High elsewhere.

Forecast for Friday:
North of the Alice Springs District...
Isolated showers and storms, tending more frequent over the eastern Barkly and
Roper McArthur Districts. Light to moderate northeast to southeast winds.

Alice Springs District...
Partly cloudy apart from isolated showers and storms developing in the western
border areas and in the northeast. Moderate northeast winds.

Saturday Outlook:
Partly cloudy in the Alice Springs District apart from isolated showers and
storms in the west and northeast. Isolated showers and storms over the
remainder, mainly during the afternoon and evening.

Sunday Outlook:
Isolated showers and storms north of Tennant Creek. Mostly sunny in the south.
