Spudding of First Well at Jefferson - McLeod
Carpenter Pacific Resources NL (ASX:CPC) (“Carpenter Pacific”) advises that it has
spudded its first well at the Company’s 30% owned Jefferson – McLeod project, North
East Texas. The well is known as the Huntington#2-H (formerly referred to as the
    Walker#3-H1).
The Huntington#2-H well is a horizontal well and will be the first horizontal well drilled
on the Jefferson-Mcleod Project acreage. The well will be the first of up to 17 wells to be
drilled over the next 18 months. The Jefferson-McLeod Project is a redevelopment of the
    large Rodessa field.
Drilling will target the Pettit horizon. The well has a planned vertical depth of 6,450 ft
together with a horizontal drilling of 600 ft.
The well is expected to take approximately 27 days to reach the planned total depth and
lateral extension. This will be followed by a period of up 15 days for testing and
    completion.
