    Thanks for some excellent thought - as a 4m small investor, I love to see that someone has taken an informed and objective look at SPX.

    I especially like your categorisation of macro and micro factors, and have been considering an example of the former related to Capricorn. Where the private mechanical repair sector is being squeezed by: auto makers who do not want their cars to be repaired outside their own service centres, poorly made modern cars that aren't worth repairing, cheap new electrical cars, and those same cheap cars being hard to repair for reasons listed above PLUS Chinese manufacturers not sharing their software and electrical cars requiring new skills many extant shops don't have.

    So if that industry is in decline, I'm glad LP might rescue SPX.

    I'm also curious if Capricorn might seek a takeover of SPX as a means of transitioning/diversifying it's own company. That may meet your standard of "Catalyst" if the current management were replaced, and SPX were acquired, and the combined product seemed worth consideration from the bigger investors?
