The only problem being that it overshoots each time, reverses, overshoots again and by the time it finally settles on the centre, the centre has moved.
Its also a bad metaphor from a scientific point of view. In a perfect world the ball would fly all the way to the other side of the earth, come to a stop at the opposite surface and start reversing - oscillating back and forth forever.It would always be at maximum speed at the center - never stopped.
Sorry to be so pedantic but like most TA its pseudo-science. Some charts I find useful but steer well clear of "theories".
