    buddfox: spyware software Buddfox

    I've used a plethora of these programs.

    They all promise alot and in reality deliver little.

    Spybot Search & Destroy is by no means the creme de la creme of the Spyware programs.

    I use a few. Someone mentioned that no one program gets them all. This is a pretty accurate assumption.

    I've come to the conclusion that Ad-Aware is rubbish.

    My top 3 choices would be

    1. Spy Hunter
    2. Xoftspy;
    3. SpyBot (although it isnt up to date on trojans and worms, it does locate most advertising crap)

    If you have problems with worms and trojans, then xsoftspy will find them and delete them, HOWEVER, you will find that Anti-virus software will be needed to thoroughly clean your system. Either that or go onto the symantec website, search for the nasty of your choice and it will give you a pretty good rundown of what you'll need to do to rid your PC of the problem.

    You need to be vigilant in protecting your PC. A few programs come up with pop-up blocks, but you need a anti-virus program that recognises when a change has been made to your system registry. Ad-watch, adwarespy and Windows XP now has its own in-built pop-up blocker.

    Hope this helps.
