Appreciate the contrarian view. I would suggest Zip is not a one trick pony, and should be looked at differently to a commoditised 'pay in 4' product. It's clear 'pay in 4' is just a feature... Zips assault is more broadly at the credit card (1-way relationship), and the customer/business journey of buying/paying (& finding) products/services/inventory/goods/assets (potentially C2C in the future) through transparent, and seamless payment options.
IMO Squares move simply validates purchasing shifts/trends, and is a clear sign BNPL is influencing how people want to buy moving forward.
