SANTIAGO, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Union workers at Chile's Cerro Colorado
copper mine, owned by global miner BHP Billiton , said Wednesday
they had stopped working and were blocking access to the mine to protest
the "unjustified" firing of fellow employees.

Union leader Pedro Marin said 520 workers walked off the job after 11
workers were fired. He said the walkout has lasted four hours so far.

A source at Billiton confirmed that entrance roads were blocked to the
mine and that shift changes had been interrupted, but could not say if
    production was affected.

    WASHINGTON, Nov 21 (Reuters) - A 5.9 magnitude earthquake
rattled the region of northern Chile that has been rocked by a
series of aftershocks over the last week, the U.S. Geological
    Survey said on Wednesday.

The quake at 1255 GMT was centered 143 miles (230 km)
southeast of Antofagasta, and was 68.3 miles (110 km) deep, the
    USGS said.

A week ago, a 7.7 magnitude quake near Antofagasta
collapsed homes and buildings, killing two people and injuring
115, and there have been a number of aftershocks since then.
