That's why I play the long game for investment - when I started investing seven years ago I thought I could learn to pick what was happening, diving in, diving out trying to pick peaks and troughs, looking at Bolinger Bands, RSI and all of that - but, I realised that I was betting on a roulette wheel and running-up a complex tax situation. Sometimes I won big, sometimes small, sometimes lost - but over a 12 month period I was standing still and wasting a lot of time.

It's always fun to watch (and comment here) when a stock is having a run, and being bemused when it's plummeting.

I bought 750,000 SRN about 12 to 18 months ago. Haven't traded one share since. (Have 10 stocks that I have held long term BRN, GLN, GSR IIQ, CHK and a few dogs).

Looking at the fundamentals - I think I will still be holding in 5 years (unless something goes badly wrong - which does happen).

Anyway, just thought I would provide some disclosure and context to my posts. I know a few of you read them (thanks Fred and Andrew).
