free carry when possible has been my number one trading rule.
It has been the single most important factor in being successful in the markets, year after year for over 20years, ie capital protection
I make no apologies for risk management
however, free-carrying means buying and holding a quality stock until it doubles, bare minimum. Patience is essential and patience is impossible without conviction ie never buying something that I haven't done enough DD that I'm comfortable holding at least 12mo regardless of price action.

On the other hand, Pip trading is no different to gambling IMO.
Buying without research is also gambling, not that a trader can't get lucky when buying blindly but that's sheer luck ie gambling. No one can do that with consistency. Eventually their luck will run out and will end up losing their capital.

Real wealth, serious money, is only made when you hold a quality spec LT. Even better, from exploration until production.
Keeping a close eye on fundamentals to gauge any change in its prospects. As long as the fundamentals are sound I'm happy to hold LT


SRN is still well positioned IMO and is actually advancing well albeit at a very slow rate. The new appointment of the CEO is grounds for optimism. So it's still a hold as far as I'm concerned. DYOR, NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE
