It is an interesting concept, and appears to have some institutional support. I first heard about this several weeks ago. However, ultrasound technology has been used as a point of care device in various subspecialties for over ten years. Initially used for diagnosis, and more recently for interventional procedures. Although novel, it is not clear there is a need, or any significant need, for this in current medical practice.
