On a dollar averaging basis, my shares cost me $0.36 so I am still above the water line so my perspective is not from a loss situation and my position IS based on trend/evidence.
To defend history, how many times do you hear about stockbrokers or worse still, financial advisors who say they picked the GFC or a 10-bagger or the second coming. They and the rest of that ilk, spin the roulette at the table for us gamblers and generate the graphs with all their analyses. So, I agree, the market gets manipulated by the big players, but history does play into it because that is what trends and evidence are - they are history, just being quoted in a mathematical form and re-written by marketers to suit their view.
There is no future - only now and what has been. anon
