The average unemployed person in 1975 was incredibly well off.....compared to the average person in the year 2000.

You might be correct about the unemployed person, but the indebtedness is still due to stupidity on the part of the modern two income family.

Did you take notice about the cost of a plastic lamp shade compared to the weekly income. Furnishing a house is the cheapest it has ever been. The lowest income taxes that ever existed since I started working and possibly even going lower.

They even abrogated their responsibility of rearing their child onto the taxpayers both from monetary point of view, and the presence of a child at home. Basically a child is rarely at home to mess the place up - the house should look like a display.

The latest demand by these so called 'struggling families' is for taxpayers to fund a nannies for the rare occasion that a child is present in their display home.

Maybe the modern family should learn about buying and achieving their aims incrementally, like the past generation had too.

Get rid off their mentality, that I’m entitled to it everything now!
