    Sorry about this but CGT and personal tax rates are not linked.

    CGT is 30% for the first 12 months and reduces to 15% after 12 months.

    If your personal marginal rate is 45% and you have held a sotck for more than twelve months 15% is withheld (or payable at tax time).
