justis - my point isn't whether there is a rationale, good or otherwise, for the money to be raised or spent.
the point is that optimistic cash cost projections seriously inflate the sp above where it would otherwise sit - and leaves participants with a serious hangover and investments immediately and seriously in the red (circa 30%).
there have been a string of such events from the small and mid cap gold producers in recent months - and this is why I feel many long term insto investors are sick of the gold sector.
as a result the long-short funds have a free rein to push stock prices around.
