i think you guys have mistaken the announcement, the 5th aug wednesday is the record date, this implies that you have to hold the share on last thursday 30/7 to qualify for the SPP.
Buying it today will not qualify you, so don't bother doing it.
and yes, SPP is a bit bad for large holder, and good for small share holder.
but most banks are doing that.
