...also dmosmann, I think the article in yesterday's AFR (Street Talk section) made the most sense, to me at least - demerge the bits that nobody really wants (financial services) and keep the bits that are doing well and then the GE's and TPG's can make a direct investment into the head stock. FS is apparently worth less than 10% of total equity at most anyway, so it wont be missed that much.
By far the most balanced article I have read regarding Allco in AFR.
So given that scenario, I wouldn't pay to much attention to any implied valuations posted on HC. I'd say wait for official announcements before taking action.
